29 years young bitches! (And how I almost died today)

So today is officially my birthday, and I am officially 29. I've only had one person ask me how many times I've been 29 today and I'm pretty sure they were joking? Because thank god I'm aging well!

Before I tell you how my birthday is going, you need to enter my GIVEAWAY of birthday awesomeness. Or else?

OK. So I had to work today which was totally fine. Olivia and Jackson woke me up by jumping on my bed trying to sing me happy birthday, only they didn't really remember the words so then they fought over who was supposed to sing. It was cute. Then they gave me the pictures they drew for me:

Jackson's is on the left, Olivia's on the right. In Olivia's picture I'm the one on the right because I have a bigger tummy.

Then when I got to work I saw that my boss got me a gift, which I loved. She had no idea that my room was a beachy theme and that color blue. So, that was pretty awesome because it totally fits with my bedroom. And then candy of course. I'm the candy queen after all. I pretty much have the best boss ever. :) And my coworker Emily gave me a $20 gift card to the restaurant we're having part one of my birthday party at on Saturday- so that's awesome.

These were the cards I got today- I absolutely LOVE getting mail.

Matt and the kids got me a gift too, which was a 4 quart cast iron braiser pot with lid. Um, completely AWESOME and totally what I wanted. Kudos for Matt for actually paying attention as I drooled on that at Target. It probably isn't cool or fun to you, but I take fried chicken seriously and now I can do it properly. Which probably isn't fabulous for the diet, but I don't care. I can do a ton of stuff with it. I'm beyond excited. Even more so because I don't have to season it like you would with a regular cast iron skillet. BONUS.

Then I made Matt take my picture with the kids because they wanted one this morning and I wasn't about to do it when my hair was all nasty and shit.
Isn't that shirt gorgeous? You can't tell but I have a white cami underneath because if you don't have that, your boobs literally flash the world. KINDA of low cut. But I really like it. I even wore heels to work and I'm paying for it now because my feet still hurt. Obviously I'm not wearing heels as often as before.

Then it was super nice outside today, like 45 and sunny, so I went for my walk/run outside. My legs are pretty effing sore from it. It's a lot different doing it outdoors than it is inside. Running inside is apparently easier? I don't really understand that. Oh! But I was almost run over by an old guy! Seriously. I was on the far right side of the road, just running and jamming to some One Republic on my iPod when out of nowhere, I look to my left and there is a Buick literally right next to me. So I bang on the door, the old guy gives ME the bird, so as he speeds away, I run up and literally BANG the trunk of his car. He then turns the corner, up and over the curb and almost takes out the "Watch for Kids" sign. Seriously, WTF? Now, the roads in South Superior are very generous- cars can pass each other in opposite directions with plenty of room for people to walk or whatever. AND there were no other cars on our section of street, not even anybody parked on the street. Seriously. That guy could have run me over and not even have known. Crazy bastard.

So right now I'm continuing with burning my cd's into iTunes because I've put this god awful project off long enough. I have nothing really planned tonight, just a few little things to get done and then spend some "quality time" with Matt. ;)

Tomorrow for Dear Sara I am taking a suggestion from a reader having to do with my birthday, so I'm still working on it. Then Saturday I'll be having my birthday party, consisting of dinner with friends, dessert and sex toy party at my house, and maybe going out on the town?? Pictures to come. ;)

First, happy birthday.

Second, I come to you from the future. 1 year (and a monthish) in the future. 30 is not 29. Enjoy your twenties while they last.

I can normally drink like a fish. I handle mu liquor very well. On my 30th birthday, that changed. I was so sick the next day, I spent ALL DAY in pain. I'm an old man now, and need to slow down.

And WTF is it with old men in Buicks? They're the devil. Glad you lived, and glad you embarrassed the shit out of him. He deserved it.

Keep celebrating! Go go 29!

Happy birthday, lovely girl! It sounds like it's been a great day, save almost getting run over. At least you were listening to OneRepublic which is pretty much one of the best bands ever.

I hope the rest of your day is fabulous and the rest of birthday week is the best ever! Have a great 29th year!

Happy Birthday!
I think that braiser pot is an awesome gift.
Get me anything to cook with or in and I'm in heaven.
Sounds like you had an all around great day which is what your birthday should be about.

Jon wanted me to comment and say that "maybe your boss HAS been in your bedroom before" wink, wink.

He just thought that was totally funny.

Happy Birthday Sara!
Enjoy your last year in your 20's, but don't worry because the 30's rock too! (After that I hear it's totally downhill though.)
Hope you have a great party weekend!!

Echoing Krysten's comment about not getting the card, hopefully you'll get it soon! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And major warning about the e-card about to make its way to your e-mail. Your day sounds so nice - and so cute about them arguing over the lyrics and who would sing. Hope Saturday is a BLAAAAST! :)

Sounds like you had a great birthday, and it's great that you got a present you wanted and will use. I am one of those people who would rather things I want and will use over stuff that just looks nice.

As for the old guy who nearly ran you over well some old people shouldn't drive that said some young people shouldn't drive............lol

sounds like an awesome day - I absolutely love your shirt, yes!

I don't know if i've mentioned this in other comments but every time you type something about Dear Sara, I always read it as Dear Santa... don't know why... but i figured it was worth sharing, cause it makes me giggle.

Happy Birthday again, belated this time!
