October 2019 Wrap Up, November #Goals

It seems weird that we're rolling into November and I'm already thinking about how much I hate Thanksgiving but what the heck am I going to do for Christmas. Do you make a list of what you need to buy for Christmas? The last two years I've started doing that because I can't remember who I've already bought for, who a specific gift was for, etc. The fun part about memory loss is that after I wrap it? I totally forget so it's just as much a surprise to you as it is me when you open my gift. HA!

October Highlights: As busy as we were, as I look back I feel like we didn't really do a whole bunch?

  • We ate ice cream, hung out at the library, picked pumpkins, and read a bunch of books.
  • I took a couple of fun teenagers to see 5 Seconds of Summer & The Chainsmokers in concert and that was a pretty fun night out.
  • Jackson and I went to our first Pride event and he got a positive referral at school, which made me cry and I can't bring myself to erase the message off our machine. He says I can't keep it forever because that's weird.
  • We had our first dance performances of the year, Pep & Lu were Purple People Eaters and Olivia danced at a football game that I froze in the stands at.
  • The only "fall" things we managed to do this year was Boo at the Zoo and Burch Barn. We actually did both on the same day and while hectic, it was the best idea because it literally was the last nice day to do anything outside. It's all over now. Ha!
  • I hit my weight loss goal for the year! I know five pounds is what most people hope to lose in a month, but I knew five pounds in a year was going to be hard for me, but I did it! It only took like ten months, but that's OK. I'll take it!

Books Read: This was the month I pulled ahead on my Goodreads challenge so as of right now I'm at 95 books read for the year and my goal was 110. So... I'm almost done. I might actually beat my goal!

November Goals:

  • Go on a date with Matt. We didn't get to do it in October, but I'm going to try to schedule it for November for sure.
  • Get two kids totally shopped for and done for Christmas by the end of the month. Lofty? Maybe.
  • Family photos need to get done. I have them scheduled, let's hope I don't have to reschedule!
  • See my brother, sister in law, niece, and nephew. My niece turns five in November and I really hope to get down there for her birthday or Thanksgiving.
  • Read 10 books... which would get me to my 2019 Goodreads Book Challenge goal for the year. Woo hoo!
  • Maintain my weight around at 207 pounds.
  • Sort out my craft area and make it more usable. This is such an issue and I don't know what to do to make this possible, but I'd like to at least make a plan.

What are your goals for November?

You seemed to do a lot in October to me! And you definitely read more than I did! I need to step up my reading efforts big time. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Sara, you did a great job with your goals last month and congratulations on reaching your yearly weight loss goal—you rock!! Also holly poop... I have a lot of reading to catch up on! I am the slowest ever. Maybe I need to change my strategy to read really short books?? 🤔 hope you have a great weekend ahead, my sweet!!

Way to go on your October!!! You did way more than we did, man... time flies!

You should record the message off your machine, to your phone and then email it to yourself so you can save it! :)

It sounds like you had a nice October, even if you didn't do a ton of Fall related things. I didn't really either, but that's okay!! I'm really trying to get as much Christmas shopping done this month as I can so I'm not completely behind once December hits. Great job on your Goodreads goal - you can do it! And I think it's awesome you hit your goal weight for the year. That's awesome. I haven't weighed myself in forever, so I don't really know where I'm currently at, but I'm hoping to get more active these last couple of months and see if I can lose some by the end of the year. hah It's so tough!!
